Homemade Food Recipe Tips-Christmas Cake:

No Christmas celebration is whole without a traditional cake recipe. And Kumar got us this recipe for a delicious cake from her mother’s friend Santhiya. This one’s a keeper, experience! We gave the traditional Christmas cake a little twist by way of serving it in a jar with layers of smooth buttercream.

Traditional homemade cake recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 750g Mixed dried fruit
  • 500g Glazed fruit
  • 250g Mixed peel
  • 125g Chopped cherries
  • 125g Chopped nuts
  • 1/2 Cup correct pleasant brandy
  • 4 Cups flour
  • 3 Jumbo eggs
  • 2 tsp Bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 Cups white sugar
  • 2 Cups boiling water
  • 250g Butter
  • 2 tsp Mixed spice
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Traditional Homemade Cake Recipe Method:

  1. Set oven temperature at 160C. Put the following right into a microwaveable dish: mixed dried fruit, glazed fruit, blended peel, chopped nuts, butter, sugar, and water. Cook inside the microwave for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove and upload the bicarbonate of soda, spices, brandy, and cherries. Stir and leave to chill absolutely. In the interim, prepare the baking tin.
  3. Use a 30cm tin and butter it properly. Cut two rounds from brown paper and line bottom of the tin. Cut strips of brown paper and line sides of tin and butter properly.
  4. Formerly the fruit combination has cooled, add the flour and eggs. Mix gently until the whole thing is properly mixed. Pour mixture into the covered tin and bake for two ½ hours or until cooked thru.
  5. Leave inside the tin until absolutely cool. Remove, drizzle with some greater brandy before wrapping properly. Drizzle with brandy again before adorning.
