Avakai Pickle-Mango Pickle Recipe:
I learned this ability to make avakai pickle from my mother. Now, I prepared this Avakai Oorugai (Mango pickle).
Ingredients for avakai pickle:
- Mammidikaya or Raw Mangoes – 2 Kgs
- Avalu or Mustard Seeds – 200 gms
- Kharam or Red Chilli Powder – 200 gms
- Uppu or Salt – 150 gms

Mango Pickle Method:
- Boil and wipe dry; a glass or ceramic jar of 4kg or 4-liter capacity and put.
- Cool the oil completely to the room temperature.
- Clean each mango with a clean, dry, soft, cotton cloth makes sure there is no moisture.
- Set aside the mangoes to air dry.
